First Adventh wreath was made in 1838. in a home for poor kids “Das Rauhe Haus” (“Dilapidated House”) in Hamburg evangelistic pastor and educator Hohann Hinrich Wichern, and it was made of large wooden circle on wich were set 24 candles; 20 small red ones and 4 big white ones. Since then the tradition of lighting candles on advent wreath in the time near Crtismas was spread throughout the entire world. Adventhin wreath in it`s simplest is made from two symbols; circle that represents eternity and light. Candles on wreath symbolize four weeks of advent, on adventh wreath are traditionally put three violet and one pink candle. By time lighting adventh candles mark incoming of Cristmas. Making of Adventh wreath is the best pastime for the youngest household members, with making are used coniferous pine-cones, different leaves (dry or fresh) coloured with gold, silver or white color, hay, strings, branches of conniferous, moss, ivy, colloured stripes,…and indispensable candles.
